Client Satisfaction

Alderson provided me and my family with the scientific expertise, professionalism and kind attention to detail that is so very important when catastrophe strikes one’s home.

After we learned that our pipes had frozen and then burst at our country house in northern Vermont, we didn’t know where to turn for help; especially since our primary residence is nearly 2,000 miles away. Chuck Catlett and his folks at Alderson enabled us to immediately eradicate the smelly mess created by the mold which seemed to develop overnight in a very diffuse, pervasive and hidden manner.

Chuck was in constant contact with our homeowner’s insurance carrier to ensure that we were approved for all of his work. Above and beyond the call of duty, Chuck worked closely with my wife and me to make certain that his company’s work fell within our budget.

We are hopeful that we can avoid a further disastrous event like our winter pipe burst scenario, like we experienced last December. If, however, anything comparable occurs ever again, Chuck Catlett and Alderson Environmental Services will be the first person we call to help us in our time of need.

Alderson Environmental assisted my client in the microbial remediation and cleaning of a basement in Burlington in April of 2010. The house was listed for sale and we decided to hire Alderson to address the issue proactively.

The folks at Alderson were very professional, helpful and did an excellent job on the project. They moved quickly and got the job done in an expeditious manner. My client and I were very pleased with their work and would highly recommend them to anyone considering their services.

Dear Alderson:

We are writing to express my satisfaction and appreciation for your recent vermiculite removal from our home. The response to our initial inquiry was prompt and the work description and assessment estimate were accurate.

The work was carried out on schedule with exceptional attention to the careful removal of the material. Moreover, the work was completed with a sensitivity for disruption of our living routine. All of the staff were task-oriented and personable.

Thank you for your high-quality service.

Sincerely,

A huge thank you to everyone at Alderson. From the first phone call to the last e-mail everyone was wonderful.

It was time to sell my elderly mother’s home and we knew we had a serious mold problem. We got a few estimates but were instantly impressed with Chuck. He explained things in terms we could understand and had a realistic plan given the condition of the home. We also discovered some asbestos issues and were relieved that Alderson was licensed to handle this as well. It was so much easier to have everything done by the same company at the same time.

Within 48 hours we had our estimate and a written proposal and the work began in about two weeks. Added to this, our previously damp but dry basement flooded just as the work was to begin. I made a frantic call to Chuck fearing this would cause delays but was reassured that they could handle pumping out the basement as well.

The house was not occupied but I live in the area and would check in from time to time. Chuck provided regular updates by e-mail and was always available to take calls if needed. The crew did an excellent job. They were very respectful of the fact that this was someone’s home even if no one was there. At the end of the day everything was neat and clean and secure. On occasion when I was at the house they were always happy to update me on their progress. The worked progressed as scheduled and was completed within the time frame promised.

Some weeks after the completion of the job I had some questions and sent an e-mail to Chuck. He graciously answered all my questions the very next day.

I hope never to need your services again but would not hesitate to call Alderson if I do. In my opinion you truly are the best. Our realtor was so impressed she raised our asking price. We are now under deposit and hope to close soon!

I’m in the process of trying to sell a house, which had belonged to my father. A recent home inspection uncovered some asbestos in the basement and a small amount of vermiculite in the attic, both of which needed to be removed before putting the house on the market. It was clear I would need to find a company who was versed in the removal of hazardous materials. Never having encountered this problem before, I turned to Angie’s List.

I chose Alderson Inc, which I found listed on this site, as they came highly recommended. It became clear from the moment I contacted this company, why that is the case. From my first contact with Chuck, he was professional as well as very congenial. He quickly made an appointment to meet with me the next morning for an estimate. Being as I still had much else to do with the house, I appreciated how fast he was able to accommodate me.

I was further impressed by Chuck at our meeting. He discovered more asbestos in the basement than the home inspector had and without pressuring me, indicated he felt that the old oil tank would also be an issue in the sale of the house. Obviously knowing his business and versed in local and state laws re: the removal of hazardous waste, Chuck made short work of assessing the situation. His explanation of what would need to be done was clear and concise and left me feeling extremely confident that the job would be done efficiently and with great attention to detail. He was very informative, without being at all pushy and his estimate came in at well below what I had imagined.

I decided on the spot to hire Chuck and the team he spoke so highly of. He was able to fit me in to do the job beginning the following day and the team finished on the second day! Amazing! Throughout, they kept me apprised of their progress via phone and email. Each person I spoke to was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable.

The gauge on the oil tank originally read 10 gallons, but as it turned out, the gauge was broken and there were 30 gallons to be removed. I assumed there would be an extra charge for the time and disposal of the extra oil, but Chuck said no.

I feel strongly that this company is exceedingly competent, as well as honest and fair in its dealings. Chuck and his team are truly a delight to work with. It is easy to see why they came so highly recommended here on Angie’s List. It just doesn’t get any better than Alderson, Inc. if you are in need of an environmental contractor.
